The PCB composite filter before RO membrane changes every year. It is pre-treatment material for RO membrane, including PP cotton and active carbon. Each change costs 200 RMB.

I changed the RO membrane this February. We only change it every three years. This time it cost 800 RMB.

Besides, the electricity the water purifier uses is very little. I do not count this cost.

Let us make a summary. No matter which country you live in, the total cost of a home water purifier has two parts.

First part: first buy cost, around 2000 RMB.

Second part: filter cost. Pre-treatment filter 200 RMB one year; RO membrane filter 800 RMB every three years. If we calculate the average number, the filter cost is about 466.67 RMB each year.

If the water purifier can work for 8 years, the machine depreciation cost is 250 RMB every year.

Final summary: A 2000 RMB RO water purifier works 8 years normally. All costs add up to 716.67 RMB per year. Divide this number by 365 days, the cost is about 2 RMB every day. For clean water we drink every day, this price is acceptable.
